However I have watched others and have always been fascinated that commentators could tell who was going the fastest in any sport that attempts to define &quot;A blink of an eye.&quot;
How can they even SEE (or otherwise sense) the differences of speed.

It is also of note that humans strive to be not simply better, but measurably better; and not even that, humans need to be indisputably better.
